I had one hell of a VD.....

...and it didn't even require a shot of doxycycline.

This is the first Valentine's Day in 4 years that I've actually enjoyed. I'm exhausted, and I spent all day at the hospital, but I'm an uncle now.

My best friend, Juggalo homie, former roommate, and little brother from another mother's son was born today, Xavier Daymen, at 14:41. (Born on 2/14 at 2:41... kind of weird) 6 pounds, 12 ounces, and 20 inches long. With huge feet. I'd almost bet that he'll grow up to be at least 6'5".

And at the end of the evening, very large, expensive cigars that I provided for myself and my little brother were enjoyed greatly.

Inner Workings of the Duc

My mind seems to work in ways quite different from most of society. This is a bit of a glimpse into my psyche. Superficially, I show and feel emotion, in similiar fashion to anyone else. However, if I attempted to delve into my thoughts and feelings beyond what lay on the surface, I would eventually reach a void inside myself. A point where emotion did not exist. It was empty, but neither lonely nor peaceful. Perfectly neutral. A completely stable and balanced point of being, because of the lack of all emotions which so often defy logic. Some emotions at times would penetrate further towards that empty core, but nothing ever even came close to reaching, much less breaching it. I often wondered if the way I 'felt' was normal, and idle conversation generally concluded that it wasn't, but any serious thinking about it just led to not giving a damn if it was normal. It has led me to seem overly cold at times. I can be betrayed by a friend and it not invoke anger nor pain, because my mind convinces me that if a friend knowingly and willingly betrays my friendship, then they were not a true friend to begin with, and as a result, there is no reason to feel anything towards the loss. I've tried to fight these notions before, seldom with any success at all. When I do succeed to a degree, I may resume my friendship with the person, but under the surface the damage is buried, but still very much remains. Now, if you hadn't noticed, a good bit of that was written in past-tense. There have been changes in myself over the past several years that have affected my mind-state. I have had relationships where the feelings I had for someone overwhelmed the void in my psyche. After the first time that happened, and, to put things mildly, things didn't work out, it only served to strengthen me and reinforce against being hurt again. In the interim, there was a lot of confusion and mental anguish that took me quite some time to learn to deal with properly. That has not been the only time emotion has penetrated the void inside me, but it has been extremely rare.

Harry Potter like you've never imagined!

Stolen from bash.org

Purely in the interests of science, I have replaced the word "wand" with "wang" in the first Harry Potter Book

Let's see the results...

"Why aren't you supposed to do magic?" asked Harry.

"Oh, well -- I was at Hogwarts meself but I -- er -- got expelled, ter tell yeh the truth. In me third year. They snapped me wang in half an' everything

A magic wang... this was what Harry had been really looking forward to.

"Yes, yes. I thought I'd be seeing you soon. Harry Potter." It wasn't a question. "You have your mother's eyes. It seems only yesterday she was in here herself, buying her first wang. Ten and a quarter inches long, swishy, made of willow. Nice wang for charm work."

"Your father, on the other hand, favored a mahogany wang. Eleven inches. "

Harry took the wang. He felt a sudden warmth in his fingers. He raised the wang above his head, brought it swishing down through the dusty air and a stream of red and gold sparks shot from the end like a firework, throwing dancing spots of light on to the walls

"Oh, move over," Hermione snarled. She grabbed Harry's wang, tapped the lock, and whispered, 'Alohomora!"

The troll couldn't feel Harry hanging there, but even a troll will notice if you stick a long bit of wood up its nose, and Harry's wang had still been in his hand when he'd jumped - it had gone straight up one of the troll's nostrils.

He bent down and pulled his wang out of the troll's nose. It was covered in what looked like lumpy gray glue.

He ran onto the field as you fell, waved his wang, and you sort of slowed down before you hit the ground. Then he whirled his wang at the dementors. Shot silver stuff at them.

"Yes," Harry said, gripping his wang very tightly, and moving into the middle of the deserted classroom. He tried to keep his mind on flying, but something else kept intruding.... Any second now, he might hear his mother again... but he shouldn't think that, or he would hear her again, and he didn't want to... or did he?

Something silver-white, something enormous, erupted from the end of his wang

Then, with a sigh, he raised his wang and prodded the silvery substance with its tip.

'Get - off - me!' Harry gasped. For a few seconds they struggled, Harry pulling at his uncles sausage-like fingers with his left hand, his right maintaining a firm grip on his raised wang.
